Why is this person important in your life?

Parker Hillard is important to me because he's one of my closest friends. He's always there to make me laugh and he just treats me like one of the guys. Park is always there to hang out when I'm sad or mad at the world and he's just there to make me laugh.

How does their personality dictate your artistic decisions?

This kid is a pain in the butt to photograph to be honest. He never stays still and he hates posing for the camera. So when and doubt, take candid shots. The candidness of these shots really exposes the person that Parker is, which is a jeep loving, food hogging, creative, goofy person. I had him outside with his Jeep because he is IN LOVE with that thing, and I took a photo of him in the garage making something so I could get him in action while he was doing something that he loved.

How has this unit affected your photography?

This unit has affected my photography a lot because I discovered that I had to follow him around for a while (not to sound creepy at all) to get a good photo because he always moves around. I also had to change my patience level during this unit because I'm used to photographing people in the studio in 20 minutes and being done with it. I had to hang around Park for 2 days to get shots that were up to my standards but also expressed his personality.

  1. 1.) The personality of the model is he looks very serious about what he does. The model seems to love his jeep, just by the look in his face you can tell he loves working on his jeep/ or working on things in his garage. He seems to hide his face from the photos, so that either indicates from me that he doesn’t like his picture taken or is just one of those people that doesn’t like to sit still, he likes to be doing things and moving around.
2.) Visual clues that brought me to this conclusion is that the model seems either shy to the camera or just seems wanting to do something else (like he can’t sit still. It seems like the model loves being outside and doing things, I can tell this because he is in the garage working on a project. The model looks to enjoy the outdoors and just enjoys having fun in life.
3.) The photographer was successful at capturing the model doing what he loves to do. The photos are a very good representation of how the model lives, it’s very clear he loves his Jeep and loves working on projects.
4.) I only have 1 suggestion at this time, and it would be to try different angles of the face (I didn’t do many angles on mine) so I’m just recommending what I would try and do for next time. Other than that I have no other suggestions because everything else is great.

    1. Looking at just the photos...describe the personality of the model?
The model looks serious because he does not smile in photographs. It looks like he likes being outdoors. He likes to eat. And he doesn’t like to look at the camera.
    2. What are the visual cues that brought you to that conclusion?
It looks like he likes being outdoors because all of the photos are taken outside. I think the person drives a jeep because that is what he is photographed with. The person must like to eat because he is eating in one of the photographs.
    3. What was the photographer successful at?
You did a nice job portraying the person’s personality. Also, good job with using different backgrounds in each photo.
    4. Provide suggestions for next time.
Next time, maybe you could try and make the pictures a little more clear so they aren’t fuzzy! But overall you did a good job!
